Partridge Creek Compost is a local nonprofit on a mission to reduce food waste going to landfills and improve soil health in our region. They provide curbside compost collections for residents and businesses in Marquette County. With 66 million tons of food waste created each year in the United States, composting is one of the easiest ways to combat climate change in your daily life.

BODEGA

All of Bodega’s food is made from scratch, in-house using local & Michigan ingredients. This business takes pride in serving the highest quality plates as a part of the slow food movement. Try one of their famous burgers or enjoy a bloody mary with breakfast served all day.

The Delft Bistro and Donckers

These neighboring restaurants are owned by a local couple who’ve made sustainability a core value of their businesses. From using locally sourced ingredients to installing solar panels on their roof, these efforts are setting a prime example for others to follow. Stop into The Delft for a perfectly crafted meal, or try some delicious chocolate treats at Donckers.  

Marquette Food Co-op

The Marquette Food Co-op is the area's only full-service Natural and Organic Community-owned grocery. The Co-op provides shoppers access to organic, local, and fairly-traded products. They also offer many educational opportunities including farm tours, cooking classes, workshops, and a variety of other services to educate the public about food and environmental issues.

Doozers

Serving a wide selection of delicious cookies, sweet treats, and more—you can find Doozers at their storefront in the historic Gossard Building in Ishpeming or set up at the Downtown Marquette Farmers Market. Keep an eye out for pop-up events, and cookie-decorating classes throughout the year!

Peace Pie Company

Peace Pie Company is the perfect spot to cure your sweet or savory cravings. Serving everything from a classic Dutch apple pie to curried vegetable pot pie, and daily soups, salads, and quiche. 

Lakeshore Depot

Lakeshore Depot provides a unique and special service for those looking to support local farmers. Operating as an L3C, 75% of their gross sales go directly back to the farmers, with 100% of their products sourced locally or from the Midwest region. Looking for a good grab-and-go lunch? Velodrome Coffee Company

Located in Marquette and Ishpeming, Velodrome Coffee Company goes by the motto “fast, simple, fresh”.
